Privacy policy

Overlayn reads the text inside the images you upload and draws the translation back in. This page says exactly what that involves for your data.

Who we are

Overlayn is operated by Rustamjon Nuriddinov. For anything in this policy, write to rustamm.nuriddinov@gmail.com.

What we collect

  • Account details. When you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name, your email address, and the account identifier that provider gives us. We never receive your password.
  • The images you upload and everything derived from them: the text found inside, its position and styling, the translations, and the rendered result.
  • Your credit balance and purchase history — what you bought, what each job spent, and when.
  • Technical logs written when your browser talks to our servers, used to run the service and investigate faults.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising. It reaches only the services that make Overlayn work:

  • Our translation provider (OpenAI). Only the short text fragments found inside an image are sent for translation. The image itself never leaves our servers.
  • Polar, the merchant of record for purchases made on the web. Polar collects and holds your billing details. We never see your card number.
  • Apple and RevenueCat, for purchases made inside the iOS app.
  • Google or Apple, for sign-in only.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

Where it is kept and for how long

Your images, renditions and account records sit in our own storage and stay there until you remove them. Deleting a document removes its source images and every rendition made from it. Ask us to close your account and we will delete it along with everything in it, except the purchase records we are required to keep for tax and accounting.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to rustamm.nuriddinov@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days.

Cookies and browser storage

Overlayn keeps your sign-in tokens in your browser’s local storage so you stay signed in between visits. That is all. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics on this site.

Children

Overlayn is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
